Mechanical Engineering Graduation Checklist

To graduate with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, all requirements on this checklist must be completed. If all requirements are fulfilled, the minimum amount of credits for graduation will be met. Degree audits will take place during the second semester of junior year and the first semester of senior year. Each student will meet individually with the M.E. Assistant Director for Undergraduate Affairs to confirm that all requirements for the bachelor's degree are on track to be met.

For a detailed description of Mechanical Engineering requirements, consult M.E. Undergrad Academic Program.

MAE Department Petition

This form is for internal MAE Review Only.

Students will use the MAE Department Petition form to request approval to use a non-standard course not listed as already approved towards major-approved, advisor-approved, technical, probability and stats, and minor requirements.  Once completed, the form will be sent to the MAE Undergrad Office where it will be reviewed and a decision will be made by the MAE Associate Director.

MAE 1900/4900 Project Approval Form for INDEPENDENT RESEARCH

This Project Approval form is required for all students enrolling in MAE 1900 and MAE 4900 for Independent Research. A new form must be completed each semester and requires a signature from the project advisor (not your regular faculty advisor). Once your form has been approved by your project advisor, the MAE Undergrad Office will send you a permission code for online enrollment.

Senior Design Enrollment/Project Approval Form for MAE 4291

The Senior Design Project Approval form is required for all students using independent research or a project team to complete their Senior Design elective and is required for enrollment in the Senior Design course, MAE 4291. Submit your completed and signed project approval form through Qualtrics before the end of the add period to receive a permission code for online enrollment. To check the status of your Qualtrics form, please speak to the MAE Undergrad Office in Room 125 Upson. This form is NOT required for students who are enrolling in the Senior Design version of an MAE course (e.g., MAE 4861); those students may enroll directly on Student Center. For a list of senior design courses, see senior design requirements

Senior Design Report and Executive Summary

Once you have completed yourSenior Design Report and submitted it to your project advisor, you will still need to submit the report and an executive summary to the MAE Undergraduate Office using this Qualtrics form. The Senior Design Report and Executive Summary is not graded by the MAE Undergraduate Office, but is required in order to be cleared for graduation.

Advisor-Approved Electives

Please confirm the courses you've selected to use for your Advisor-Approved Electives during your graduation audit meeting. There is a minimum of 2 courses and 6 credits needed to fulfill the advisor-approved elective requirement. Please be prepared to discuss why you have selected those courses and how they fit in to your educational or career objectives. If they are not courses already pre-approved (research, project team, courses used toward a minor) by the MAE faculty, the MAE Undergraduate Office will walk through the next steps with you. Otherwise, approval during the audit meetings may be all that is needed.
