Research Overview

Bio-fluid dynamics, Bio-fluidic device, and Imaging techniques at micro/nano scales. As we enter the era of quantitative biology, there is an immediate demand for a set of new quantitative experimental and numerical tools for probing spatial and temporal cellular dynamics at multiple length scales, namely macro-, micro- and nano-scales. These tools are critical for resolving the central question in biology, which is to correlate dynamical activities at molecular levels (gene expression/protein dynamics) to cellular functions, and to physiology of living organisms. The basic premise for our line of study to integrate quantitative techniques that are prevalent in physics and engineering into the animated world of bio-fluids. Please refer to our lab page  for current research activities.

Biography

Prior to her time at Cornell in 2003, Dr. Wu was an associate professor in physics at Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA. She was a postgraduate researcher in the Department of Physics at the University of California at Santa Barbara from 1993-1995. She was also a postdoctoral research fellow at the Laboratoire d'Hydrodynamique at Ecole Polytechnique, Paris during the year of 1992.
